Lisa Shock received her Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience from Colgate University in 1992. She then entered basic science and clinical research at UNC-Chapel Hill focusing on signal transduction, HIV-transmission, and immunology. In 1999 she graduated from the Duke PA Program. Ms. Shock practiced family medicine in Roxboro, North Carolina prior to joining the Duke Family Medicine faculty as a clinical associate in October, 2004. Her clinical expertise includes experience in geriatrics and long term care as well as women’s health. In January 2006 she returned to rural family medicine in Roxboro, North Carolina as a partner with Roxboro Family Medicine & Immediate Care, PC. She looks forward to the challenges of integrating principles of chronic disease management into improved patient education for her rural community patients.
Ms. Shock is actively involved in legislative and reimbursement issues by working with the Government Affairs Committee of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and has served on the Physician Assistant Advisory Council to the North Carolina Medical Board. Ms. Shock also served as President of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants in 2005. < < < Back
