Mr. Coniglio is an academic coordinator and oversees the didactic year schedule. He coordinates the following courses: Basic Medical Science, Patient Assessment I and II, Evidence-based Medicine I and II and several units of Clinical Medicine I, II, III. He is a physician assistant in the Breast Oncology Program, Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine at Duke University. His areas of clinical and educational interest include: breast cancer, cancer screening and prevention; medical issues in international adoption, evidence-based medicine, test-writing and analysis, and medical writing. Mr. Coniglio has published widely in oncology journals on a variety of research topics. Other publications include articles on “ The Peer Review Process and PA Journals,” in Perspective on Physician Assistant Education and “The Role of the Primary Care Provider in Oral Health for the Disadvantaged Pediatric Population” in JAAPA, and posters on “ Bridge to the Clinical Year: Transition from Classroom to Clinic,” “ Integration of a Long-Term Care Experience into Physician Assistant Education” and “ Self-Reported Confidence Scores Authenticate Relevance of EBM Curriculum.” Mr. Coniglio serves on the Membership Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Nominating Committee for the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants and is the AAPA Liaison to the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
