Ms. Dieter oversees the planning, development, organization, evaluation and administration of the PA Program and is a Co-coordinator for the Practice and the Health System course. She is an instructor for the History and Physical Diagnosis course and the Senior Seminar. Ms. Dieter’s areas of clinical and educational interest include: educational systems and evaluation, accreditation, interprofessional education and new curriculum development. Ms. Dieter is a member of Pi Alpha, the national physician assistant honor society. She serves on the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and was Chair from 2004-2005. She served on the National Working Groups on PA Competencies and International PAs. Ms. Dieter is active in a number of Duke Department of Community and Family Medicine Committees including the Education Committee, where she serves as Chair, and the Executive Council. She is a founding member of the Duke SOM Interprofessional Collaboration in Education Group.
Ms. Dieter’s recent publications include: posters on "Interprofessional Collaboration in the Development of a Disaster Preparedness Curriculum," "Development of a Standard Set of Criteria to be used in Evaluation Across Multiple Health Professions Educational Programs," "Bridge to the Clinical Year: Transition from Classroom to Clinic," “Integration of a Long-Term Care Experience into Physician Assistant Education and "Developing a Brief, Academically-Focused Postgraduate Course in Occupational Medicine: The Duke PA Division’s Experience,” and an article in Perspective on Physician Assistant Education on “Team Process Exercise: An Evaluative Admission Tool.
