Mr. Hendrix is an associate consulting professor in the Department of Community and Family Medicine. He is the Course Coordinator for Anatomy, Orthopaedics, Surgery and Emergency Medicine. Mr. Hendrix has five years of experience in orthopaedic surgery and 28 years experience in general surgery and cardiovascular surgery, and has been a faculty member of the Duke PA Program since 1979. A charter member and past president of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, he is currently Treasurer and Chair of the Conference Planning Committee. He has chaired several professional committees for the American Academy of Physician Assistants. He is Co-Chair of the Editorial Board for Clinician Reviews Journal. He is a Past - President of the Association of Post-Graduate Physician Assistant Programs and is a member of Pi Alpha, the national physician assistant honor society. Recent Publications include: “Common Anemias: what Lies Beneath,” and “Less Common Anemias: Beyond Iron Deficiency,” for Clinician Reviews and book chapters on Sterile Technique for Clinical Procedures for Physician Assistants.
